Franklin Timber Co. is a small, locally owned business in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. We try to handle your information the same way we’d want ours handled — with care, and only as much of it as we actually need.

What we collect

When you submit the free-assessment form on this website, we collect:

• Your name
• Your phone number and/or email address
• Your property address or nearest cross streets
• Whatever you tell us about your trees in the message field

We also receive basic anonymous analytics from the web host (Cloudflare Pages) — aggregate page views, rough geographic region, and referrer. We do not use third-party tracking pixels, Facebook pixel, Google Analytics, or any advertising networks on this site.

How we use it

We use the information you provide for exactly one purpose: to respond to your assessment request and, if you choose to move forward, to complete a timber sale on your behalf. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. Ever.

If we need to share details about your property with a third party — for example, sending tree species and specifications to a mill for a bid — we only share what the mill needs to quote (species, sizes, photos, and general location). We do not share your name, full address, phone number, or email with mills unless you ask us to.

How long we keep it

If you contact us and don’t become a customer, we’ll keep your information for up to one year in case you want to follow up, then delete it. If you become a customer, we’ll keep your contract and related records for seven years for tax and legal reasons (as required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the IRS).

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to:

• Tell you what we have on file for you
• Correct anything that’s wrong
• Delete your information (unless we’re legally required to keep it)

How we protect it

Your information is stored in standard business tools (email, a password-protected spreadsheet, and our form provider). We use strong passwords and two-factor authentication on all accounts. We do not store your information on public computers, shared devices, or unencrypted systems.

Cookies

This website itself doesn’t set any cookies for tracking or advertising purposes. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may set a small session cookie for security and bot mitigation, which expires when you close your browser.
